The name of the group is the KERALA GIS COMMUNITY; hereinafter referred to as “KGC”. KGC shall carry on as a not for profit GIS Users Group.

Mission and Objects

KGC is a group of GIS professionals who hails from the State of Kerala, India and also includes interested individuals using geographic information systems (GIS) for spatial data management, analysis, and visualization across the globe. The main objectives of the community is to disseminate the information related to geospatial technologies across the public, especially in the region of Kerala and to allow its members to learn more about the current activities and technologies within the industry under the guidance of senior advisors from the Geospatial domain.

The Mission of KGC is: “Facilitate communication among people working in all areas of GIS”

The Mandate of KGC is to:

1. Cater to Kerala’s GIS interests
2. Facilitate open discussion and presentations on GIS topics of local interest
3. Advertise, promote and organize local events
4. Provide an opportunity for networking among the GIS Professionals and make their services available for the public across the internet.
5. Provide an open forum for data sharing & learning opportunities in new initiatives, methods, architecture, standards and best practice in GIS

KGC’s Policy is:

1. Membership is open to people working in all areas of GIS
2. Non-vendor specific, support all the technologies giving more focus on the latest innovations and advancements in the GIS domain.
3. Charge nominal fees for the dedicated services of the consultants of KGC(GPaaS).

KGC’s Goals are to:

1. Organize and hold two to four GIS events per year
2. Provide and update the Who's Who of GIS in Kerala
3. Facilitate resume posts / GIS project case studies / GIS jobs
4. Provide links of interest to members
5. Promote local events to spread the knowledge of GIS
